Fuel Assistance Recertification applications should start arriving in August. I will be available to help complete your recertification by appointment, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please make sure you keep ALL the papers that come in your recertification packet. You will need to bring the following documents to your appointment:

  • Your Social Security letter (received in January)

Seasonal Tips

Summer brings sunshine, outdoor fun, and longer days—but it also comes with its own set of challenges. Here are a few practical tips to help you stay safe, comfortable, and energy-conscious all season long:

☀️ Beat the Heat Efficiently

  • Keep blinds or curtains closed during the hottest parts of the day to reduce indoor heat.

  • Use ceiling fans to circulate cool air.

  • Opt for grilling or using smaller appliances to avoid heating up your home with the oven.

🧴 Sun Safety

  • Apply sunscreen with at least SPF 30 every two hours—especially after swimming or sweating.

  • Wear protective clothing, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat.

  • Try to avoid direct sun exposure between 10 AM and 4 PM.

💧 Stay Hydrated

  • Hot weather increases your risk of dehydration. Drink plenty of water throughout the day.

  • Choose water-rich snacks like watermelon, cucumbers, and citrus fruits.

Summer is a great time to enjoy the outdoors—just be sure to do it safely and smartly. A little preparation goes a long way in keeping cool, healthy, and ready for all the season has to offer!
